HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER (HCV) PROGRAM
This program provides eligible households vouchers to help pay the rent on privately owned homes of their choosing. A family receiving a voucher must pay at least 30 percent of its monthly adjusted gross income for rent and utilities. Contact the Indianapolis Housing Agency or Community Action of Greater Indianapolis to learn more.

INDIANA HOUSING NOW
Indiana Housing Now.org is a housing locator service sponsored by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority that provides detailed information about rental properties and helps people find housing to best fit their needs. The service can be accessed at no cost online 24 hours a day or through a toll-free, bilingual call center at 1-877-428-8844, available M-F, 9:00 am – 8:00 pm EDT.

The Indiana Office of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) has several resources available for renters on their website, including dispute forms, tenant rights, landlord obligations, legal assistance, and more. UTILITY ASSISTANCE

Energy Assistance Program
The Energy Assistance Program (EAP) can help you pay your heat and electric bills! Indiana households that make up to 60% of the state’s median income can qualify. Residents can apply online or call 211 for assistance. For more help, visit the Community Action of Greater Indianapolis office from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 3266 N. Meridian St. or contact client services manager Dana Nash at dnash@cagi-in.org or 317-524-6852.

Indiana law prevents disconnections of electric or gas service during the coldest months of the year. From Dec. 1 through March 15, a utility may not shut off residential utility service to anyone who is eligible for the Emergency Assistance Program and has applied for such assistance. Utility Provider Assistance
Citizens Energy offers discounts or credits for those approved for Energy Assistance Program funds. The utility also offers payment extensions as well as its Warm Heart Warm Home grants to help customers keep their service. Winter Assistance Fund
Indianapolis residents who struggle to afford increased utility costs but don’t qualify for the government’s Low-Income Energy Assistance Program can apply for the United Way of Central Indiana’s Winter Assistance Fund. Learn more by visiting http://www.uwci.org/waf

Weatherization Assistance Program
The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) Program provides energy conservation measures to reduce the utility bills of low-income Hoosiers across the state. INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT ACCOUNT (IDA) PROGRAM
